 Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I use insurance if I pay out of pocket?

If you decide to pay out of pocket, I can provide you with a superbill (detailed document) that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance company to determine how much they will reimburse you.

  • What are your rates for sessions?

    Individuals:

    Initial Evaluation - $165

    50-minute session - $150

    90-minute session - $175

     Couples:

    45-minute session - $165

    90-minute session - $200

  • Do you accept insurance?

At this time, SI Counseling accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you choose to use out-of-network benefits (pay out of pocket), a superbill would be provided to you. Please note that a diagnosis would be provided when you use insurance which would be discussed with you in your initial session.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

SI Counseling has a 24-hour cancellation policy. Please give at least 24-hours notice if you do not think you will be able to attend your session. If you cancel in less than 24 hours or do not show for your session, you will be responsible for the full rate of the session, unless in the event of an emergency. Please note that insurance does not pay/reimburse late cancel/no show fees.

  • Where would we have our sessions?

At this time, all sessions would be conducted via a HIPPA-compliant platform. A private link would be sent to you before your sessions to allow you to access the sessions.

  • Why don't you accept insurance when working with couples?

Insurance is accepted for individual clients only (BCBS/CareFirst).

SI Counseling does not accept insurance when working with couples because a mental health diagnosis would have to be provided. That would mean identifying one indvidual in the couple as the person with the "problem".
